Pre-flight Inspection

Based on the instruction "On the procedure for inspecting hand luggage, baggage, and personal inspection of passengers of civil aircraft and the seizure of substances, cargo, and items prohibited from transportation on civil aircraft of Turkmenistan".

Inspection of hand luggage, baggage, and personal inspection of passengers, including transit passengers, on domestic and international flights, is carried out to ensure flight safety, protect passengers and crew, prevent hijacking attempts, and block illegal transportation of explosives, toxic, flammable, radioactive substances, weapons, ammunition, and other dangerous items.

To ensure passenger safety at the entrance of Turkmenabat International Airport and Kerki International Airport, preliminary checks of all visitors are conducted, including metal detectors, luggage inspection, and personal inspection if necessary. These measures ensure safety both in the terminal and onboard aircraft.

Inspections are conducted in special rooms (inspection points) equipped with stationary inspection equipment and video surveillance systems, as well as rooms for individual inspections.

Passenger belongings are inspected in the presence of the passenger. Baggage can be inspected in the presence or absence of the passenger.

If a passenger refuses the pre-flight inspection, the air transport agreement is considered terminated according to Article 72, Clause 2 of the Turkmenistan Air Code.

During pre-flight inspection, a mark is made on the ticket (except for e-tickets) and/or boarding pass, and the passenger is directed to the sterile zone.

Domestic flight passengers and their hand luggage are inspected after ticket registration; international passengers are inspected after customs and border control.

Please note that any photo or video recording is prohibited in the passport and customs control zone.

Pre-flight Inspection Procedure

Prepare to present your boarding pass and ID document;

Remove and place coats, hats, belts, watches, and other metal objects into plastic bins. You may be asked to remove your shoes;

Place mobile phones, lighters, cigarettes, coins, keys, and other metal items into hand luggage or plastic bins; separate electronic or electrical devices (e.g., personal computers, tablets);

Place hand luggage horizontally on the X-ray conveyor belt. Do not place luggage on the edge of the conveyor as it may move backward when activated, causing the luggage to fall;

Passengers with pacemakers undergo manual (contact) inspection without the use of technical or special equipment. Passengers with pacemakers must inform the security inspection officer prior to inspection;

Passengers must comply with all requirements of airport staff conducting the inspection.
